Wrong song number in tag
« on: June 15, 2023, 11:59:59 am »

Hi,
When I play song no: 1 (for example) then when MC changes to the next song that song is not show in Tag. Please see attached picture.
Is there something wrong in my settings? Anyone know about this?

The tag window doesn't change to follow what's playing.

But I have seen sometimes it actually does follow. Is it not possible so it always do that?

If it always did that and you were editing another tag it would cause problems.

The "Track #" in the tag is the track number the song is in on the CD (Or vinyl, Cassette etc...).

The track number you are showing on the right is the number in the playlist.

So if you were playing a single album in order it would match.  For anything else it will not since it isn't playing the same as on the CD etc.

Dear Carl,
Thank you for answering.
I am not sure I follow. The track numbers in the right, are they not the numbers of the CD? Because it is many CD´s that I have in the Library from this artist? I am playing just this CD and not mix the songs from all CD´s from this artist.

Captor - In your picture Track 1 has been Manually Selected therefore the tag window is displaying the tag contents for that track and not track 2 which is the one currently playing and will continue to show the info for track 1 until you deselect that track.

But if you do not manually select an individual track the tag window will always display the tag content of/for the track that is currenntly being played

I understand now. That is the reason why it work sometimes and sometimes not. Thank you very much Tiger and Carl.
