First post in forum, but have spent the afternoon trying to solve this issue but with no luck. Running MC 31.
When streaming through Tidal, I can playback any files 96kHz without big issues (still get some small stutters in first couple seconds of track). However, anything above this will cause severe stuttering and will not clear with time. However, I can play 192kHz from Tidal without issues when sending straight to DAC (Topping E50), and I am hardwired at 100gbps so network speed is not a concern. I do not have any downloaded files over 96kHz, but files in library have no issues.
I have MC selected as the audio source in Tidal with exclusive control. Sending it to the "Default device" in Tidal sends it to JRiver, but in shared mode, so bitrate is inaccurate.
I have tried:
- Changing output mode (ASIO, WASAPI, Kernel, Direct)
- Maxing out buffer size in every area (including DAC settings outside of MC)
- Having MC play from memory
- Changing MC to default audio device in Windows
- Updating firewall to allow MC
- "Play silence" on startup
- All DSP settings off
- Turned on "Set active zone for WDM/ASIO playback"
- Turned on "Support kernel streaming audio output"
Any advice on next steps? I know MC streaming can be difficult, but I'd rather not leave the ecosystem since I really like the plugin functionality and not having to pay for another service. TIA
