Enhancement Request: Increase input and output buffers
« on: August 20, 2023, 09:52:56 am »

I am using convolution and its delay significantly exceeds the available buffers. When I watch a video it is still at least a second out of sync when I have both buffers at their maximum of 500ms each.

Does it work with no convolution?

There was another similar problem in the last 2 or 3 weeks, and I think it was video driver related.  HDMI?

Actually, no. The delay shown when I hover over MC's gear is about the same, around 7500ms.

To be honest, I don't normally watch things with MC dialog as I'm hypersensitive to sync issues. And the talking head portion of the video today that led to this thread wasn't important. So if nothing changes I'm ok with it. But my thought was that increasing buffer sizes -- even substantially -- would be easy and wouldn't affect those that didn't need it.

It's not MC doing it.  HDMI?

It was downloaded from a Tivo using pyTivo, then converted to mp4. So, HDMI to the Tivo. It's certainly possible that either/both the pyTivo and VideoReDo processing is/are responsible for the poor sync. I use this method for sports things that my wife doesn't enjoy.
