I believe MC was born at MC9.  Earlier versions were Media Jukebox.  There were versions of that starting at 1.

31 versions is INSANE.

One of the reasons I've stuck with MC is because of the slow change of the user interface.  It's essentially unchanged for me across 11 major versions and about 8 years.  That is incredible.  Most software changes for the sake of change.  In the process it makes the users nuts because they lose their mental investment.  MC lets me keep doing what I do, the same way I did it, and EVOLVES little things, and adds new features in the background.

For the second time in a week:  Applause for the MC team!
