Search did not help with what I hope to be able to do.

I run analysis on every file or album that I import.  I have several compilations made up of cuts from various albums and, sometimes, genres.  I am never happy with the result of the audio analysis routine possibly due to me not knowing how to set it up but it begs the question:  Is it possible to use MC to go in and manually adjust the gain, or loudness, of an individual file in a compilation and, if so, where do I start?

R128 is used now and it's written to a tag.

Thanks Jim.  I do have "Volume Leveling" enabled.  I'll try "Adaptive Volume" and see if that helps.  In the past, for MP3s, I have used MP3GAIN with some success but, of course, it's limited to that file type.

If you have compilations from various sources, try changing the media subtype tag to "Podcast".  It changes the way volume level is applied.  It's right after "Lyrics" in the standard view tree.
