exe file won't run
« on: April 29, 2024, 02:34:01 pm »

I kept getting a "digital signature" error from Norton when I opened MC32. One suggestion was downloading the latest version 32.0.42. I uninstalled my current version but  "MediaCenter320042-x64.exe won't run.

Uninstalled Norton, still not working.
I downloaded an earlier version of Media Center and that worked.

I get a routine digital signature error from Norton on this version (and I think a previous version).  When that screen comes up, there is an option to allow.  Also, you should disable data protector under Antivirus settings during install, and, ideally exclude all the exe files.  I am still having some issues with .42 saying it is blocking file changes when I use the tagging operations.  Not sure why, but it isn't clear that it is actually blocking them.  Anyway, the above should help, if like me, you insist on using Norton.

Update Windows Defender definitions.

Jack Wallstreet,  I use Norton's password manager and I'm not about to drag all that data to a different manager.

Norton is wrong, and you need to report it to them.

Or uninstall it.
