Filter by Language?
« on: December 10, 2023, 11:00:14 am »

I realized today that almost every movie in my library has returned an empty "language" field from TMDB, so a search by language doesn't work.  Is there a way to filter so that non-English movies are showing?  Thanks for the help.

Check the [Country] and [Audio Language] fields.
You can use ZRatings to pull more info from TMDb, including the language.

Language is not exactly a good field for filtering for such things, depending on what you want. Do you actually want to filter if a movie has an english audio track? Or was filmed originally in english? Only the second is something you can possibly fetch from an online database, the first depends on which version you have, and they don't have to match.

What I was trying to do, at the time, was show only movies that are in a foreign language because I was working on fixing some subtitle files, and also wanted to watch some.  So, I wanted to scroll through my library only seeing the movies that were not in English.  I'm looking for a best way to go about that.  Thanks again for the help and replies.

I was able to populate the language fields with zratings, and then used that to search non-English language movies, so that solves my issue.  Thank you, zybex.
