CD Burning Problem
« on: February 12, 2003, 11:06:44 pm »

OK, I've been using MC9 since v9.0.105, and I am still having the same problem (also mentioned earlier in a post by someone else) in v9.0.111.  When I burn a CD, whether or not there is a gap between tracks, the songs (especially later in the CD) are not spaced correctly.  The beginnings of tracks are placed at the very end of the previous track, by about a second or so.

Here is my system information:

Media Center Registered 9.0.111 -- C:\Program Files\J River\Media Center\

Microsoft Windows XP  Workstation 5.1 Service Pack 1 (Build 2600)
Intel Pentium 4 1877 MHz MMX / Memory: Total - 261 MB, Free - 115 MB

Internet Explorer: 6.0.2800.1106 / ComCtl32.dll: 5.82 (xpsp1.020828-1920) / Shlwapi.dll: 6.00.2800.1106 (xpsp1.020828-1920)
Shell32.dll: 6.00.2800.1145 (xpsp2.021108-1929) / wnaspi32.dll: Internal ASPI Layer

Ripping /   Drive E:   Copy mode:ModeSynch   CD Type:Auto   Read speed:Max
 Drive F:   Copy mode:ModeSynch   CD Type:Auto   Read speed:Max
Digital playback: Yes /  Use YADB: Yes /  Get cover art: Yes /  Calc replay gain: Yes /  Copy volume: 32767
Eject after ripping: Yes /  Play sound after ripping: No

Burning /  Drive F: HL-DT-ST CD-RW GCE-8400B    Addr: 1:1:0  Speed:40  MaxSpeed:40  Use MJ Engine:Yes
Test mode: No /  Eject after writing: Yes /  Direct decoding: Yes /  Write CD-Text: No
Use playback settings: Yes /  Normalization: None

Any help would be greatly appreciated.  However, I think it may be a bug in the program as it has been reported earlier.  Thanks again!

I haven't noticed this. Do you get the same problem if you uncheck the "use crossfade/dsp" option?
If I understand you correctly, the track division is getting placed earlier than it should, so if you press the next track button, it starts playing the last second or so of the previous track before starting the next track. Is that right?

I actually have not tried burning without the DSP option.  But no, it's the opposite of what you said.  The track division is being placed too late.  When I skip forward to a track, the beginning is cut off, because it is actually placed at the very end of the previous track.
