artist tags, where do they come from

In media center, for an mp3, I see artists for "[Artist]", but my artist tag is empty.

Where are those artists coming from ?

The artist tag, but I see "Holland Baroque/Deborah Cachet/Alex Potter/Mirko Ludwig/Dominik Worner", when playing the file.

The wiki explains tagging.  Look at Artist, Album, and Album Artist.
