JRiver mac routing
« on: January 25, 2024, 11:10:40 am »

So question is how do i route every audio in the system to be outputted by jriver?

In windows i use wdm driver to route youtube, Spotify, every sound to JRiver

After i use JRiver convolution  to output diy 3 way speakers. (Active crossovers)

So every sound on the system is played thru JRiver in this setup.

What is the best way to do the same in Mac?

Unfortunately, as far as I know, there's no way to do this on Mac or Linux, just Windows with the WDM driver.

What about third party audio routing software like products from rogue amoeba?

If somebody has done it, would be nice to know

I bought mac Mini for to be used as media center and now i am in shock that i cannot use it as i planned

Any idea is welcome

I only need:

Firefox--> JRiver

Spotify --> jriver (going to change to apple music)

Apple music --> JRiver

I have a rme ufx / totalmix, with endless routing options if that helps

Again, right now it's only possible on Windows with MC and the WDM driver. In fact WDM stands for Windows Driver Model and there's currently no equivalent in MC available for Mac or Linux. An equivalent for Mac and Linux has been requested for years since the WDM driver was first released in MC, but alas as of now it's a Windows-only MC feature and I'm not aware of any workarounds or anything like that for Mac.

Given the Cupertino Dictatorships approach to "other peoples software" it wouldn't surprise me to find that if somebody did find a way of converting the WDM driver into something that was Mac Compatible the stroppy OS would probably refuse to install it.
