View Behavior feature request
« on: January 28, 2024, 03:41:20 am »

It would be great if there were a way Media Centre could switch to Cover View whenever it advances to play the next track in Playing Now.

Often, accidentally, I walk away from a PC leaving MC playing in Standard View -- a PC that I generally prefer to show Cover View when playing -- only to glance back at it a few minutes later, realizing I had left it in Standard View.

Having an option to change  automatically to Cover View, upon automatic track advance, would save me from needing to go back and manually switch to Cover View.

A small but nuisance-y thing that I notice myself doing fairly often.

Thank you!

Try Tools > Options > General Behavior.

Nope. Current options do not do what I'm talking about.

Nothing built into MC can directly accomplish what you want.  That said, I imagine it might be possible via a script of some kind to execute: When play begins, switch to cover view

I've written a handful of very simple scripts, but nothing like what the above would likely require.  I'm only posting to entice all those MC script Masters out there… I'm thinking zybex, Marko, lepa, etc. could come up with something.
