12. Changed: MC will simplify camera make and model strings by removing duplicates and wordy phrases.  For example,"NIKON CORPORATION" will become "Nikon" for Make tag, and "NIKON D310" will become "D310" for Model.

1. Fixed: Theater View playback of "Play All" did not start on the selected file.
2. Changed: MC will not only remove XMP, IPTC, MJMD image segments, but also remove the entire EXIF segment when executing "Remove Tags".
3. Changed: Removed the Media Library node at the root of Browse/Rules in MCWS.
4. Fixed: The new version of the upgrade installer didn't handle remote libraries and libraries in non-standard paths.

4. Changed: "Camera" field is made "Clear-only", so users will not be able to change camera Make and Model in EXIF image tags.  Also user-defined custom fields "Make" and "Model" will not be supported in EXIF handling.

1. Changed: Updated the copyrights to 2024.

If I look at the remote view definitions, I see an entry Playlists at the end which has no child categories and no search information associated with it (I'm fairly sure it's part of the default setup).

However this entry is not present in the MCWS Browse/Rules output so looks like a bug to me

Struggled with Windows security Nightmare but got there in the end. Only been on my PCs since 2015 but download clamped up as unrecognised software. So Windows knows nothing and isn't learning at all. And in a year's time I'll have forgotten this and run into the same issue no doubt

This implementation just seems wrong.  It catches one possible case out of hundreds or thousands.

I have a driver program that allows making MCC, MCWS, and command line calls.  When the library is changed, there is a settling period before MCWS should be callable again because there are many MCWS calls that are library-specific; otherwise, the data from the currently loaded library is returned, not the one being loaded.

I really think that Load/Library needs to block until the requested library is loaded and MCWS is ready to return its status against the requested library.  Otherwise, it makes chained operations such as:

where N entirely depends on machine speed, library size and system load.  Since command line programs are generally stateless, later commands in the chains can't know previous commands loaded a library.  Instead, the call to load the library should block so the the command can exit when the library has been successfully loaded and MCWS is ready to work with the newly loaded library.

The Library/Import has a Block attribute which allows long-running imports to be blocked until MC has imported the files.  Load/Library should support the same.

The issue is that loading a library tears the web service functions down so they simply can't wait to return or it would just lock up.

Something has to restart MCWS right?  I suppose you have no way to inform the higher level.

No matter, I'm handling it by delaying exit in my Library/Load calling function by pausing briefly until MCWS shuts down, and then test polling for the connection to come alive again.
