I have an issue with IPTV playback that I previously thought may have been caused by using some older hardware but have recently splashed out on completely new kit and the issue remains.
When viewing an IPTV channel, after a while (this could be 30 seconds to 30 minutes) the picture will freeze and the audio just plays a stutter of the last second before the channel froze.
I can watch the same channel concurrently on MC and on a very downscale android device running an IPTV client and the same thing does not occur. Should there be a glitch or a brief buffer or freeze (which is expected with this kind of service) the android client will recover after a second or two but in MC I have to stop the channel, wait a few seconds for the playback screen to go back to the channel list or theatre view and then start the channel again.
I am confident that this is not a hardware issue, so I'm assuming I may have misconfigured something in MC somewhere for this to keep occurring.
IPTV playback runs in MC on a dedicated NIC in an isolated VLAN used only for IPTV to keep that segment as clean as possible.
Is there a way to increase the buffer for IPTV playback and would that help?
I am currently using MC 32.06 on Windows 11 23H2, Core i5 14600K @ 3.5Ghz, 32GB RAM, 1TB NVMe for the OS and a dedicated array for time shifting and recording. The machine is dedicated to MC and is used for nothing else. JRMark is 8830.
