Media Network Client "Audio Conversion" won't stick.
« on: February 29, 2024, 01:09:50 pm »

I run JRiver at home on windows and play music with JRiver on my work windows PC daily. I was trying to play some high bitrate FLAC and it was buffering  because my upload from home is poor.

"Media Network>Client Options>Audio Conversion>Encoder MP3 High Bandwidth" does not work. It keeps defaulting to "Low" which is giving me a 64kbps stream. I have changed from convert when needed to always convert. No matter what I do  it only wants to convert to low quality Mp3.

Any ideas what is happening?

Anybody have any thoughts here? Should this work?

So I just tried it to see, and I'm seeing the same issue as you on a client machine; when I set the client mp3 encoding quality option to something other than "Low" the next time I open the options it's reverted back to "Low."  It definitely used to work, and I don't think this is expected behavior.  Hopefully one of the devs can weigh in.

Does that mean one will need v32 for this bug fix?

MC32 is the currently developed version of Media Center as MC31's development ended awhile ago, so yes.

I guess that's the business model but this seems like a basic feature that was supposed to be working in previous versions.
