Quick access button for auto import?
« on: March 15, 2024, 03:38:48 pm »

Is it possible to create a kind of shortcut button to the function „tools - import -start auto import“?

Yes, customize toolbar and look for a button named "Run Auto-Import Now".

I have used this feature for 15 years as a database + file system integrity check.

Once a day I click it expecting MC to report zero files have changed. This tells me:

1) I did not delete by mistake an item from my library.
2) I did not delete or move by mistake a file on the disk.
3) I did not forget to import some newly tagged files.
4) An external program has not changed any of my files or tags.
5) The Windows file system and physical drive (probably) did not have a hiccup.
6) MC's database is (probably) not corrupt.

It's a testament to Matt's skill that MC can scan 700,000 items in about 7 seconds.
