Save text based search as a smartlist: possible?
« on: March 19, 2024, 02:29:43 am »

Hi all,

I know how to make smartlists. The wizard makes it quite easy.
Now I want to make a smartlist of a search action that I made in plain text, for the simple reason that otherwise the amount of work I would have to do with the wizard would be too much.
For your info: The search action lists all the songs that have a name of an American state in it. So the search action is something like

name="Alabama" or name="Alaska" or name="Arizona" or name="Arkansas"

etc etc

Now I know I can save this search. But I want to save it as a smartlist, so I can find it in my tree view.

Is there a way to achieve that?

Thanks!

Just click the 'import' button on the smartlist editor and paste the text there.
You can also write it like so:
name=Alabama,Alaska,Arizona,Arkansas,...,"New Mexico",...

Perfect, thank you!
Also for pointing out to me that my way of 'scripting' can be done more simple :-)
