Media Network Crashes
« on: March 20, 2024, 06:44:14 am »

I recently updated to v32. This issue was present in the latest v31 builds.

I am running an up to date Arch Linux.

Media Center runs fine interactively. The Media Network doesn't. I can access the webpage just fine, but then upon clicking a link or an album, it crashes. I've tried this both remotely on my network as well as on the same machine MC is running on. This is an important feature and was a prime motivating factor to update but alas, there's something else wrong.

My audio is output to a USB DAC. Again, MC works fine. The Media Network *was* working in v31 for a time until it wasn't - sorry, I can't pinpoint exactly when that stopped working.

Thanks.

This may be a bit tricky, as it's a non-Debian (or Ubuntu) platform. It *could* be related to the certificate thing (maybe the SSL option in Media Network is enabled?) which you can try the following command to symlink to the certificate, but it may not make any difference.

Code: [Select]
sudo ln -s /etc/pki/ca-trust/extracted/pem/tls-ca-bundle.pem /etc/ssl/certs/ca-certificates.crt
You can also try enabling logging in MC, reproduce the crash and see what the log says.

I assume you installed the jriver-media-center meta package from the AUR too? Or did you use the installJRMC script?

I think logs are the only way to find out what's happening here.

I can confirm that media network works normally in MC32 for me running on an up to date arch linux (MC installed from the AUR), so it's probably not an Arch issue. It's more likely something specific to your setup. So the logs will help figure out what's happening.

ok I've turned logging on and will monitor this, because, of course, turning on logging also meant this is working right now  :-\

SSL is not turned on so that shouldn't be the issue but thank you for the suggestion.

I'll update this thread as I keep an eye on this - it was super annoying as i'm sure you all can appreciate!
