How do I disable Automatic Updates?

I have "Disable Automatic Updates" checked in Help->Update Channels

I usually start MediaCenter and audio system from a button on my remote control before I get out of bed... and the past few mornings there was long delay between when the program started and when the music started (playback is set to auto start).

Later I tested and got the dialog to update with the countdown timer.

While I will normally update to stable versions later in the day when I'm at my PC, I don't want the start up delay or the wait for the update when I start MediaCenter and my audio system when I'm away from my PC.  It's unnerving to start the program and audio system and have it not work the same every time when I'm not at the PC to see why.

We can make it an option if it's enough of a sticking point.  Hopefully it won't be.

Yes Please.  An option to truly turn of automatic updates without prompting... or at least, let MediaCenter start automatic playback, and let the update dialog just timeout.  That way, when starting remotely, I'd never notice the update notice.  That update dialog should not be modal.

I've set up a program I have called "BuzzOff" to immediately automatically click "No" on the update dialog... that works for me, but it's really not ideal and others I'm sure would like to not have to click or wait on MediaCenter startup.
