Problem w/ WebRemote
« on: January 07, 2003, 08:44:29 pm »

I just downloaded MJ 8.0.393 and the WebRemote plugin dated 12/4/02.  I can connect fine, but if I get down to an individual file, or I try to access by file location, the web interface adds a %3 after the drive letter in the link I'm supposed to click on, which messes up the link, and therefore won't play the song I want.

If I manually correct it the link does work, but then I have to correct it for each level down I go.  For example, I correct it, so now I'm at the \mp3 level.  If I click on MP3 it adds the %3 back in.

An example link, cut and pasted <except the address>:

/view?location=Media+Library%7CFile+Location%7CD%3:%7CMP3

Any suggestions, or is this a bug?  I apologize if this has already been discussed, but I searched the forums and didn't find anything.  I did download Glissando and it does perform these functions correctly, so I'm not sure why I'm having the problem in the web interface.

Thanks, fantastic program.

What browser?  If not IE, please try it.  If it is IE, what version?

I don't think it's a bug, but it's always a possibility.  If Glissando works, it's probably the browser that is not compatible.

Browser is IE6, SP1.

Thought you might have had something, so I tried Mozilla 1.1 - identical behavior.

Also tried moving some files to c: and imported them into the media libary - same problem, puts the %3 after the drive letter, before the colon.

It was our problem and it should now be OK.  You'll need to stop your server and then install the webremote plug-in again from our plug-ins page.

Both Glissando and NetRemote have much nicer interfaces.  They both build on top of WebRemote.

You said you have Glissando.  Here's NetRemote.

Thanks for your patience on this.

Uh oh - but now when I use Glissando, and try to access the library, after choosing albums or artists, I get an error, and MJ shuts down...the error is:

AppName: media jukebox.exe       AppVer: 8.0.393.0       ModName: int_webremote.dll
ModVer: 0.0.0.0       Offset: 000137a1

I guess the fix caused another problem.....

Glissando's developer may use a different version of WebRemote.  Check his site.
