IdVR 400 Series
« on: March 27, 2023, 02:08:56 pm »

We're now shipping a new JRiver Id.  It's based on the NUC 12 Pro Kit NUC12WSKi3.

It is ready to run, with 16GB of RAM and 1TB or 2TB of M.2 NVMe SSD storage.

Linux and MC are installed Linux and an MC30 license is included.

Dimensions:  4 3/4" x 4 1/2 x 1 1/2"  (12.1 x 11.4 x 3.8 cm)

IdVR 401  16GB RAM, 1TB SSD   $695  (plus shipping)

IdVR 402  16GB RAM, 2TB SSD   $775  (plus shipping)

This NUC is significantly more powerful and uses less power than the previous NUC we offered.  Power consumption is 6 to 8 watts at idle, 8 to 10 watts playing FLAC files, and 30 to 40 watts playing 4K video.

Video playback of 4K works.  8K probably won't, but it's too soon to be sure.

It's capable of doing high quality video rendering and high res audio.

Please write sales at jriver to order.  Early orders may have a slightly longer lead time.

I have been enjoying my IdVR 402 for a couple of months now but it is currently running MC 31.0.36 whereas my Mac is updated to MC 31.0.83.
Is 31.0.36 the up to date version for the IdVR 402?

Try the option to update (12) on the text menu.

Thanks Jim, that worked by plugging keyboard and mouse into Id. Was trying to update using Panel which wasn’t working.

Same question. When will MC32 be available on the Id? That new feature of MC32 that copies/moves libraries and media to a new platform would be very helpful.

Also; how to change the default wallpaper on the Id

Also: there is no Explorer under Drives & Devices

Also: I've downloaded Chrome but cannot install it. Is there any way to unlock the Id enough to allow for customization without breaking the turnkey features of the Id?

Try the beta.  https://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php/topic,135355.msg937547.html#msg937547

I believe it's MC32.

You can't customize the Id.

Are there hidden Main Menu options? I ran option 12 and it restarted MC at the same version level. How does one get the beta?

Read Jim's link in the message above.
There are some hidden options mostly for restoring the Id to its original state and installing and de-installing beta builds of MC for the Id.

You don't need that now, just function 12 should work.
What version are you on?

Try doing a function 12 from the main menu either on the Id or via remote desktop or vnc.
There are versions at the bottom of the text menu.

And wait.  Mine took a few minutes before MC32 opened.  I've got a Raspberry Pi 4.
