I have just purchased a Denafrips Ares 12th-1 DAC that is capable of playing high resolution DSD files (up to 4X). When I try to play the DSD files Media Center 32 indicates the file is being converted to PCM before being sent to the DAC. See attached screenshot. I want to send the DSD files in their native format to my DAC. How do I accomplish this?

I'm using Windows 11 Pro.

Enable DSD bitstreaming. MC's Options > Audio > Settings > and set Bitstreaming from None to DSD (or Custom to choose max DSD rate to bitstream).

Thanks, that sure worked but I lost volume control in MC32 using ASIO. Any fix for that?

Unfortunately that's normal when using bitstreaming, you won't be able to control volume nor use any DSP, EQ/PEQ or anything of the sort. Also with DSD, volume (both system and internal volume) has to be set at 100% or else you'll just hear white noise. If you need volume control with speakers (e.g. powered speakers/monitors) I'd recommend adding a potentiometer in the chain.
