Automatic switching between audio output devices not working

I have two audio out devices on my Windows 10 PC.  MC32 doesn't automatically switch to using the system's output device when it changes.  The default audio device has to be manually changed in MC32.  I'm not sure if there was an update (MC or Win10) or something i've forgotten that I changed.  This works when I rollback to MC28.  Any thoughts on where to look?
