MJ8 License
« on: January 07, 2003, 06:26:43 pm »

Hi, I upgraded to MJ8 today. But in 10+ tries the program has consistently failed to accept the license key (message: Failed to restore license). I've tried every conceivable way to fix the problem, i.e., remove and reinstall program, restore from file, restore from internet, retype registration code, etc. Somebody please tell me what to try next.

He has a version 8.0 license purchased yesterday and I think he's using 8.0.394.

babe,
There is a FAQ here that may help:
www.mediajukebox.com/license

I've asked johnt to confirm that your license will work with 8.0.394.  Please check back later today.

Make sure you are running as a user with admin privileges.

I installed MJ 8.0.394, restored your license on my machine and it worked ok.

Have you ever installed a newer version of MJ (version 9)? If so, you may have to delete a file in your windows system (or system32) directory called mjextman.exe and then reinstall MJ version 8. Then try to restore your license.

Please post your system info (from the MJ Help menu).

Thanks,

Hello, I'm really sorry but nothing seems to work. I used the installation key that came with the restore but it always results in failure. And yes, I do have administrator privileges on the PC the program is installed on.
