Volume Control slider disappears?
« on: August 13, 2024, 08:44:00 am »

Hello,

My volume control is set to "System Volume."  The MediaCenter volume control slider disappears when I change the "Audio Device" in settings.  Is there a way to stop it from disappearing?  I have to restart MediaCenter for the volume slider to re-appear.

Thank you.

Not seeing that. What devices are you switching to and from?
Note that some devices like external monitors only allow control on the monitor itself when used directly (not through core audio)

Instance when it happens:

1. Boot up computer
2. Run MediaCenter - audio out is set "Default Core Audio"
3. Add Air Play audio device - DAC - to available output devices in Midi audio devices
4. return to MediaCenter - Volume slider disappears

Have to restart MediaCenter.

Maybe adding Air Play audio device prior to launching MediaCenter is a better sequence to follow.?

Yes that would be a better approach. MC can't pick up the dynamic airplay devices.
