Migration worked. Verified options, all is well.

No errors during the install and update.

No errors when closing MC33 and reopening MC33.

Tested the audio functions. All is well.

Set all the permissions as prompted with no problem.  Verified that all the permissions set for prior versions were now set for MC33.

I've been playing around with the new Playing Now Popup and it works really nice.

Very refined and stable.

Couple comments:
the default size is too small to be legible on my Mac. It's easy to change the size so this is not really an issue. I set it at 200% which is perfect for me.

The 3-Track skin is not legible. It does not scale on the Mac (it does scale on Windows).

Installation went fine but my problem with tabs is again coming up. All set tabs partially or completely disappear, or are renamed when I completely close MC33.
Also, I am getting crashes when doing work on tabs, like moving or creating and naming tabs.
Log and crash report are attached

Each tab has this small down-arrow to access the view and playlist settings. Unfortunately, this menu opens upon hovering it. This is annoying as the mouse easily moves across this area. It would be better to access these on click only.

Thanks to the developers - MC 33 works without problems on my iMac (M1, Sonoma 14.6.1). But I still can't solve the problem of playing this file: Keith Jarrett - The Köln Concert [ECM 2017 Japanese SHM-SACD ISO].iso On JRemote the content is recognized, but when playing the program it just quickly scrolls through the attached files (as if it is playing) and stops (Teac NT-505, network connection to iMac, DLNA enable). Can anyone tell me how to solve this problem? Thanks in advance.

SACD iso files played via DLNA need to be transcoded, at this time there is no track extraction from the iso for DLNA (or to JRemote directly either).
In JRemote your only option is to turn on transcoding.
In MC to a DLNA device you can tune MC's DLNA server settings to transcode SACD selectively.

Could MC read SACD discs when I use an external CD/SACD/BD USB drive?
Could MC read BlueRay Audio discs?

Hi,

I always unpack the ISO files into single dsf or dff files. Then everything is working just fine. Unfortunately the JRiver support for unpacking ISO files is not that straight forward as we would like it to have. Basically you have to mark the ISO file and then to start the conversion process. For example you convert existing DSF files packed in ISO file into DSF files.

This support has been discussed once on the forum but since then, nothing happened.

Currently in MC the process to extract from a SACD ISO is a lossy process that goes through a PCM stage in the middle (SACD ISO > PCM > DSF/DFF). To avoid this and extract pure DSF files from a SACD ISO with no PCM conversions use an app like ISO2DSD or the sacd_extract fork from the terminal.

Bob - Looks like you won't need those additional headache pills after all.

For the last 3 hours MC33.0.13 has been running under the Sequoia Beta 1 playing 24/96 tracks via HDMI to my Samsung Q990D 11.1.4 Soundbar, with every DSP Option turned off, and that silly spinning beach ball hasn't put in an appearance. The only time I did see it was when I was looking through the various options that pop up under the Systems Settings > General > About option.

I'm not sure if all the efficiency gains I'm seeing are down to Sequoia or MC33 because the tracks I'm playing are on a 2TB M2 Disc that is formatted as AFPS (Case Sensitive). I used Finder to move the tracks from the Win-PC to the Mac-Mini, using an Ex-Fat32 formatted disc, to the M2 Disc and then imported them into MC33 and used MC to rebuild the thumbnails.

So far switching Views is almost instantaneous including switching to Albums and Artists Views, both of which are using thumbnails. plus MC, or Sequoia, seems to be accessing the M2 disc less frequently than when the tracks were 24/48.

The only "oddities" I've encountered are the ones I've previously reported about the Player Bar being in different places, dropping down from above, sitting on the desktop to the left of the main MC window or not being anywhere  when I use different options to switch to Display View and it never putting in an appearance in Cover View.

Hello,

is the fix for the CD playing still in roadmap for 33 version?
I tested Media Player 33 but the bug seems still there. Do you need further logs?

Thanks,

It's on the list. I started working on it in MC32 but it's complicated enough that it wasn't ready before MC33.

Thanks Bob for the update.
A reliable CD playing would let me to completely phasing out Music for MacOS which works reliably in playing CDs but I suspect is tainting the sound in some way. CDs sound muffled. CDs play condiderably better with audio direct mode in JRiver.

Stefano
