Hifiman EF499 or EF500 as a streamer with MC
« on: September 15, 2024, 03:18:06 pm »

Hi,
I'd like to use as an endpoint for headphones listening Hifiman EF499 or EF500 using the ethernet adapter. I guess I could send the audio creating a zone via DLNA but I'm not sure if I could do this and control the zone with JRemote.
Anyone has experience with these devices or can help me?

It should work.  If they're willing to test, we can send them a license.  I'm jimh at jriver.

Thank you Jim I wrote to Hifiman supporto and they told me that "these decisions Is not up to them".
Anyway I found these in a ef499 review
"The internal streamer is nothing more than a UPNP renderer that can be easily controlled from an app such as MConnect (iOS) or Bubble (Android)."
Basing on this you can tell me more about compatibility With jriver?
Thanks

It will probably work.  Our wiki has a topic on DLNA.

Your device is a renderer.
