Hi,
My first post on a forum so please bear with me .
I have been using jriver 32 to play my DSD music for a couple of months now with no problems.
If I played a DSD or DSF file my DAC would click in to DSD mode automatically.
I imported a new album and got a playback error and now no DSD files play at all.
JRiver shows them as actually playing but no sound or auto switch to DSD mode on the DAC.
FLAC files play ok and show their sample rate on the DAC but DSD does nothing .
I have tried restarting the Macbook and unplugging the power to the DAC (Musical Fidelity MX-Dac) but no change.
The settings in the Audio options are set as:
Audio Device - MX DAC
Nothing ticked in DSP
Bitstreaming YES (DSD)
In the DSP studio window it says at the bottom Source is Dop DSD64 (x1) 1bit 2ch

As mentioned it was/has been working great until a playback error msg.

Thank you very much for any help - I feel a bit lost with all the settings and not having changed anything.

****Update****
After a restart now a DSD files shows on my DAC as playing at a sample rate of 176.4 in NON DSD mode but with no sound . FLAC files still show their correct sample rate.

Please show a screenshot of the Audio Path during playback. My guess would be DSD bitstreaming is off, but if it says it's on, not sure. Is the bit-depth and sample rate set to the maximum in macOS' MIDI Audio Setup app? This is required for some DACs. Also make sure both system volume and MC's internal volume are both set to 100%, this is also required for bitstreaming. If that doesn't work maybe try turning DSD bitstreaming off, attempt playback of a DSD file then stop playback then re-enable DSD bitstreaming and try again.

Hi,
Thank you very much for your reply.
During the process of running through your recommendations I noticed things were changing on the macbook from restart to restart.
Tipping me off that it's a computer problem and not MC32
Sure enough after pulling out all the USB devices (i have many) it is working again.
This was probably the reason for the initial playback error msg that made me think it was MC32 at fault.

I also noticed whilst reading about mac related issues in other posts on this forum that MC32 needs Mac OS 13?
I am on 12.7.2 and its working? Are there older versions of of MC32 that are ok? I cant find what version I have anywhere.
Thank you again for your time and effort. Very much appreciated.
