I'm beginning to think Sequoia is trying to tempt me into throwing the Mac-Mini into the trash bin  >:(

Not only does it make Double Clicking on an Icon when I click on Downloads in the dock almost impossible, it's stupid antics when I tried to open MC33.0.26 had me cursing the flaming thing.

The 1st time I tried to open MC33.0.26 the MC Icon in the dock performed a non-stop  bouncing up and down in the dock, I had to use the docks "quit" option to stop the animation.
I then rebooted the mini and this time when I tried to open Mc33.0.26 according to the Dock it had opened but the MC Window was not visible and when I used the Docks "Show all Windows" it told me there were No Windows. so I once again used the "quit" option.
I then clicked on the MC icon in the dock and thankfully a version of the MC Playing Now Window/Screen I'd never seen before appeared, it was the full width of the screen and about 2" tall in the centre of my 24" monitor.  Clicking on the MC Window green "maximise" icon redrew the screen to fill the area between the Apple Toolbar and the Dock, something I've never had to do with previous versions.

Everything appeared to be OK with MC33.0.26 until I used the "Minimise Button" on a Playing Now Popup I've been developing (see attached image) and encountered even more mayhem when using the popups "Maximise Button" to bring the MC main window back up. I took some screenies to show the several stages I had to go through to get back to the same MC main window that was visible before I used the "Minimise Button" on the popup.
Unfortunately when trying to upload the Images to a Pix01 Gallery it failed with an "Upload Error".

Earlier today I'd tested that Playing Now Popup in MC33.0.22 and the Minimise and Maximise Buttons on the Popup were working properly/correctly in exactly the same way as the Minimise and Maximise Buttons in the main MC window.

With a new version, it's copying stuff while it's bouncing, if you stop it before it finishes you will end up with an incomplete install, a bonkered settings file or both.
Pix01 is being moved to a new server so the upload feature is currently not working.

bob - I'm used to the MC icon bouncing in the dock when opening up a New Version of MC which usually lasts for a short period of time (up to 3 minutes) when installing a new sub-version, i.e. moving from MC33.0.22 to MC33.0.25, or a slightly longer period of time when moving between major versions, i.e. from MC32 to MC33 (normally less than 5 minutes but has been up to 10 minutes). But I killed the initial attempt at opening of MC33.0.25 when the bouncing icon had been going on for over 20 minutes.

bob - this morning when I started up MC33.0.25 and even though it opened up full size I used the reset windows option on it and restarted MC. I opened and closed it a few times during the morning and it always opened full-size.

bob/cncb - Unfortunately there is a problem with Minimising the MC Window if a Playing Now Popup is on the screen, MC drops down into the Dock but to get it to Maximise again the user has to right click on the MC icon in the dock and select the "show all windows" option and then click on the miniature version of the MC Window sitting on the desktop to get MC Window back up.

But if the Playing Now Popup is equipped with Minimise and Maximise buttons using those buttons, and not the Main MC Widows ones will minimise and maximise the screen properly

The attached link will allow you to download a PopUp skin that does have Minimise and Maximise buttons on it if you need one to be able to test it. https://englishtiger.uk/downloads/bob/ET_Control.zip

Another Apple OS oddity I forgot to report in the MC 33.0.22 thread.

As I reported in the that thread disabling tooltip transparency stopped the OS asking for that "OTT Permission" be granted, what I did not report subsequent to that is I switched tooltip transparency back on and it's still switched on in MC33.0.25. I've opened MC up quite a few times since I switched tooltip transparency back on and it has never asked for that "OTT Permission" to be granted and every time I check the relevant system settings pages MC does not have the permissions it was asking for the 1st time I spotted that request.

Are you on a SSD or spinner?
How large is your library? That seems like a long long time.

Bob -  there's just under 25,500 tracks on just under 550 albums, on a pair of external M2 discs in a single case that's connected via a thunderbird cable so as you can probably guess I was certainly wondering if all that bouncing  around was MC checking just the library or looking to see if it could find some other media files elsewhere on the Mac-mini to add.

What's in your auto-import settings?
My library is about 1/2 your size and updates in less than 15 seconds on a new version.

Nothing, I only ever use Import a single folder.

There's something really whacky about the permissions setting, when it's asked, when it's no longer asked because it's been asked once. I've tried over and over to find the pattern and did a lot of searching online and as far as I can tell that whole thing is a bit of a blackbox that's not entirely consistent.
Since it keeps getting more complex with every MacOS release (permissions that used to be more general have been split into finer and finer categories) and the apps depending on the Xcode selected minimum supported OS calls that need to work across versions, the mapping must be very complex and it's just not perfect.
