Scrolling Issue
« on: October 08, 2024, 03:15:02 pm »

I have searched the forum for guidance but have come up short.

PC with Windows 11 Home.  Logitech M585.

All of a sudden, when I have the "File" window open below the Recent Albums cover view, I only can scroll horizontally, as though sliding the horizontal scroll bar at the bottom of the screen when using the mouse's scroll wheel.  I could be crazy but I believe that, for years, using the scroll wheel would scroll vertically, from top to bottom of the file list or bottom to top.  To use the horizontal scroll, I had to grab the bar at the bottom of the screen.

I have pressed every button on this mouse and the scroll wheel itself, but can't get this to change, even if I lessen the space between displayed file fields so there is no longer a horizontal scroll bar at the bottom of the screen.

The mouse scrolls vertically in every other application on this computer.  I have closed and restarted MC any number of times but I can't prevent this from happening.

The screenshot shows the file window with field spacing that causes the scrollbar to appear.

Does anyone have a sense of whether this is a settings issue for the mouse or for MC?  Thanks for your help.

If there's no need for vertical scrolling, the wheel will do horizontal.

Thank you, Matt. I appreciate the very prompt response.

I must have resized both the file window and the width of the fields so that full albums and all their data are displayed within the file area without anything being off-screen.

I am not at the computer now, but will resize the window and the data width and confirm that the issue goes away when I create a need for vertical but not horizontal scrolling.

If there's no need for vertical scrolling, the wheel will do horizontal.

Confirming that this is the case after I resized the lower window (causing albums to scroll off bottom) and narrowed the metadata fields (eliminating the need for horizontal scrolling).  Thanks for the help.
