No sound when monitor is switched off

olymnik:
Good day.
I have MC31.0.87 installed on Intel Hades CanyonNUC - Win11, connected via USB to ifi neo DAC and via HDMI to a Sony TV.
When the TV is switched off and after a few minutes of playback, MC stops playing music.
Driver in use is WDM and the output is set to ifi ASIO.

Kindly advise.
Thanking you in advance.

That's interesting. Does it keep working if you keep the TV on? Other than using the option to keep the display on (which can be annoying) maybe something like ZoneSwitch can be used in these situations to fully switch output to the iFi output?

Windows EDID strikes again!

If you need to power off the TV or AVR, Windows will think that the Audio Device is missing/changed. So you have to put a hardware EDID device between the PC and the TV/AVR to trick Windows into thinking that the chain is not "broken".

I tried many, and landed on: Atlona AT-ETU-SYNC (starting around $50 on eBay)

Yes, when the TV is on, the sound is normally heard through the speakers. I tried several settings, with no success, both on MC and the NUC bios.
Do you have a zoneswitch solution in mind?

tzr916:
Some TV's have a "screen off" function, that keeps the tv ON, allowing audio to continue playing through the speakers. Check your Sony user manual for "screen off" mode.
