In general, I prefer using the Chrome engine as there are a number of idiosyncrasies with the Edge engine I find annoying.  One example is when using track info plug-ins: with the chrome engine, I can double-click to switch in and out of display view - very convenient. Double-clicking using the Edge browser engine however does nothing. Is this just an oversight that a code tweak could resolve, or does the Edge browser engine simply not accept a double-click input?

So why not just use the Chrome engine, right?  Well, with the Edge engine I am able to play music via YouTube and YouTube Music.  If I try that with the Chrome engine, I get an error message to update MC to the latest version (I am on the latest version).  I don't log into these YouTube's services when I do this, as I do not have accounts with either.  Regardless, it is very useful in conjunction with Spotlight to listen to a handful of songs for artists I have little or no familiarity with.

If the edge browser engine could be tweaked so double-clicking to switch in and out of display view worked, I could force myself to live with the other idiosyncrasies (which I'm not going to bother going into here), just so I can get the YouTube playback.  Conversely, if the Chrome engine could be made to work with YouTube/YouTube music, that would solve the problem too. 

Is there any chance that either one or both of these bugs can be fixed?

That using a Double-Click to switch between the Current View and Display View is also available with the Internet Explorer Browser Engine.
The other thing is you don't have to be using a TrackInfo Plugin to be able to use it because the Double-Click option also works when the Display Panel is displaying Cover Art with and without Lyrics.

Unfortunately both the IE and Chrome Browser Engines have not been updated for ages and can't handle some of the newer/better features that the HTML/JSS/JavaScript combination is capable of handling.

I've just discovered another Browser Engine that is using a Double-Click in the Display Window to switch between the Current View and Display View - the Safari Browser Engine on the Mac.

Thanks for weighing in ET.  I know Internet Explorer is the third browser engine option, but as I am sure you're aware, it basically looks terrible when activated - bright background even on dark skins, huge scrollbars, etc.  So I did not bother to even mention that one.

Yes! This is exactly why I like the Chrome engine - the double-click behavior for going in and out of display view works whether you have a TI plug-in active or not.  But I really would like to be able to use Spotlight to launch YouTube and YouTubeMusic to play a handful of songs by unfamiliar artists, but I can't do that with Chrome engine. 

So unless Matt and/or cncb says this is something they can fix, it looks like I am stuck with each browser engine capable of doing some of what I want, but fails elsewhere.

- Update Chrome engine to play YouTube and YouTube Music (as launched via Spotlight)?
- Update Edge engine so double-clicking on a track info plug-in switches to/from display view?
