MC9 crash to desktop

About a month ago I started having problems with pre-unicode MC9.  When I was finished watching some visualizations I switched it to none and moved the divider bar to the top of the window.  When it got to the top MC9 crashed to the desktop much like it did with previous versions when you activated the visualizations.  Ever since then when I try to start MC9 it immediately crashes to desktop.  I have unistalled and reinstalled MC9, installed and unistalled MJ8, and thrown some reboots in there.  I have deleted their directories.  I have done everything I can think of short of reinstalling Windows.

I was hoping that newer versions would fix whatever my problem is, but this happens with all MC9 versions.  I am using MJ8 now.

Please try 8.0.394 on the downloads page.

I tried that one but it doesn't support tv and dvd.

I don't actually want to use MJ8, I want to use MC9.  I was hoping someone could help me find out what is wrong.  I assume it is something wrong with my machine.

Have you tried the latest build of 9?

If that doesn't work, it is either a problem with the database or a problem with the registry.  Try a search here for info on these.

I did a search on this forum for info on the registry and while it didn't return anything useful it reminded me of using registry cleaning software on 9x.  So I did a search on Google and downloaded RegSeeker and used it to solve my problem.

I never even thought about the registry.
