Hi sstrick;
I totally agree... the GemStar GUIDE PLUS+ software is definitely a real plus for ATI. I have tried a lot of so-called TV Guide type program & searches, but the GUIDE PLUS+ is simply the best out there!!
Would LOVE it if JRiver would put something like it into MC9 as I am now using MC for all my TV needs & really miss GUIDE PLUS+.
I really hate to have to get on-line just to look up the TV Guide, Yahoo or one of the other crappy, advertisement hogs that are very hard to locate the current hours channel information that I want.
I guess I just got spoiled using the GUIDE PLUS+ software.
I still keep it up to date with a weekly download (including the Weekly Puzzle) because it is so much faster to use then the digital cable TV box guide, and I can mark programs in advance as a reminder of what I want to view each evening.
For those of you who have never had the pleasure of using GemStar's GUIDE PLUS+, let me explain...
* You do a download of all TV channels once a week for the next eight days.
* You can do all kinds of very neat & powerful searches.
* You can select up to 7 days in advance what shows you want to see (or record) & the TV will automatically come on at that time to the desired channel for viewing or automatically record the show. If the TV is already on, it simply changes to the previously selected channel. The new channel & the one you were watching are both available for viewing.
* You can mark groups of programs as a Favorite such as all Star Trek programs that come on during the evening only. There is no limit to the number of Favorites that you can mark.
It is one very flexible program & would be a neat addition to MC9.
