photo viewer
« on: Yesterday at 02:00:13 pm »

For the first time, I loaded all my photos into jriver. Not sure if this is a coincidence, but now I can't see thumbnails in my original photo folders.  When I open a folder the thumbnails briefly appear, then, one by one they disappear. Would jriver have something to do with this?
I can see thumbnails in jriver, though they take forever to load.
Any help would be greatly appreciated - it's driving me nuts. I use the original folders 90% of the time so I need to see thumbnails here when looking for photos. I've tried everything I can find online, like deleting thumb cache, diskrepair, etc... for Windows 10, but nothing is working (and the view tab for the folders is set to show thumbnails).
Thanks

Random idea, in MC's Options search for Enable shell integration and if it's enabled, disable it and reboot the PC and see what happens. Other than that I can't think of any reason why MC could or would mess with Windows' thumbnailing. Windows 10 and 11's thumbnails support in general can be kinda annoying dealing with its issues, e.g. it always clearing its cache and having to rebuild it constantly, UGH. Anyways, I use an app called Icaros to improve thumbnails support in Windows 11, might be worth checking into.

Is MC set as the default image viewer? I'm not completely sure, but if you navigate to the directory containing an image and hover over it, does it say it's a 'Media Center Image File' or similar? If MC is set as the default image viewer in the Windows OS, it may affect windows thumbnailing.

Try setting the default image viewer 'Default Apps' in windows settings to the default windows photo app and see what happens?
