should jriver have read write permissions?
« on: December 29, 2024, 09:17:19 am »

i have all my media on a nas and the user account on the nas  that is connected to windows has read and write permissions.

does jriver need write permissions on audio, photos, and videos?

i definately want to edit audio tags in within jriver, so i am assuming rw should be on for all my music.

i am worried about deleting files inside jriver and it removing it from the nas, is there an option to prevent this if account has read and write permissions?

If you make modifications to the tags of audio files and you want those changes written to the files themselves you'd want write access, yes.

When you delete a file in Media Center it pops up a dialog about how you want to delete it...

Selecting the first option would only remove it from MC's library, and not remove the actual file from the NAS itself unless you wanted it to using the second or third option.
