MC 33 (starting with build 56) supports the MacOS Control Center. This means that you can click the Control Center icon at the upper right corner of the screen and it will show you the metadata of the current song playing in MC. You can also control playback with the controls displayed for play/pause, next track, previous track, and seeking (previous and seeking slider appear when you click on the MC section multiple times).
