To play it back over HDMI you'd have to set it to be convert DSD to PCM. In order to play it back as DSD you'd have to connect it via USB or if the Oppo supports it over DLNA (via DoPE).

Thanks for the reply - yeah, the DSD / .dsf issue was mentioned as an aside in the initial post for this thread.

I still don't understand why channels aren't playing back properly in MC32 when using the files generated by the audio calibration tool particularly when they seem to map correctly when using the "Configure Speakers" test in Audio MIDI Setup.

So some more troubleshooting.

Seems like the root issue on my system is that subwoofer and center are switched in MC32.
It's not an issue in VLC as noted before and it's not an issue with Audirvana when trying it in their "Origin" app.

Is there a way to reassign these channels in MC32?

Awesome Donkey:
Look at DSP Studio > Output Format > Channels.

konoyaro:
Thanks

DSP Studio > Output Format > Channels > Source number = Fail
DSP Studio > Output Format > Channels > 5.1 channels = Fail
I notice that Center seems greyed out regardless of above selection.

What should I be changing?

EnglishTiger:
Try removing the Tick from Output Format and setting the Audio Device to the Onkyo PR-SC5507
