Thinking about Upgrade from MC33 to MC34
« on: March 12, 2025, 12:11:37 pm »

Since decades, I'm a loyal customer of JRiver and as I wrote before, a big fan of it.
Yesterday, I got the pre-order-mail concerning MC34. So I'm thinking about purchasing.
Unfortunately, there are still some issues to optimize as I wrote before:

- Pen(Touch) Scrolling in MCs Standard View - https://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php/topic,131371.0.html
- Tagging of MKV-files like FLAC-files - https://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php/topic,135181.0.html
- Tagging of MKV-files like FLAC-files / Both kind of files under "Music" - https://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php/topic,137138.0.html
- Options\File types\Audio: MKV? - https://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php/topic,137294.0.html
Especially: Last posts from November 08, 2023, replies #32-34
- manage library fields\flags are greyed out - https://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php/topic,137382.0.html

How are the chances that the mentioned points will be fixed in the new version? Does it make sense to purchase already now?

Only user fields have the flags user-configurable.

Pretty sure for this one is a non-starter, because you should use MKA for audio instead of MKV, which is for video and not an audio format or intended to be an audio format.

@Matt: Actually this is exactly the point: Could you free it in the code?
@Donkey: I have a very tricky library, e.g. using (music-)MKVs like FLACs - if I don't need the video-part, I simply turn the TV off. So MKAs wouldn't help.

Renaming may work for MKVs, but what's about MPGs, IFOs ... ?
