In the past I've used several video calibration disks, DVD and Blu-ray, to set the video brightness, contrast, color (hue, saturation, etc.) from a player to a video device with varying levels of success.

The question I have is would ripping the disk into MC and playing the video back via MC provide similar results or would it be an exercise in futility?
