Different frame rates for 2 different TVs in the same setup
« on: April 09, 2025, 10:00:45 am »

Hi,

My setup is as follows :

- Samsung S90C in the living room (HDMI 2.1)
- LG C8 in the bedroom (HDMI 2.0)

Both are connected to the same GPU, and I switch off in windows the TV I don't use (HDR won't work in duplcate mode), with displayfusion or powershell script, still working on that...

My goal would be to push 120Hz only when the samsung is used (because bad motion handling and other stuff)
But the LG is not HDMI 2.1 so it is not 4k@120hz capable, I would need to fallback to framerate switching (23 / 60) for the LG TV

The framerate switcher in the options is not monitor-specific so this wouldn't work.
Madvr would seem to be able to do this with its own display profiles, but I'd prefer to use JRVR
JRVR does not seem to be capable of it right now (will it be one day ?)

I'd prefet not to use zones, if possible.
Any other ideas to achieve this ?

Zones are specifically designed to handle different hardware, its our solution to such setups.

I'll look into it, thank you.

Is it somehow possible to retrieve the active monitor name and use it as a trigger to switch zone ?
The audio will play from the same device.
