Hi all,
I have a weird issue popping up once in a while, can't find the source.
Issue: somewhere in the medianetwork, some gremlin is _intermittently_ attempting to convert my MCh (or 2Ch... doesn't matter) dsf to PCM with resulting hiss over music, or a "unable to play the format" message. Sequential reboots sometimes help, sometimes half-help.
Setup: JRiver MediaCenter (v.32) set up as Media Library Server on a virtual Linux box;
same thing is setup as MediaRenderer, loaded library from the Library Server, sitting on a win10 pro quazi-HTPC connected to an external DAC (Octo8Pro) via ASIO/USB
same thing is setup as MediaController, same library fromLibrary Server, on a random win11 home laptop.
DLNA server options on the Library server "specified format if necessary" (I tried "original" as well, no difference)
dsf bitstreaming is "on" on the Renderer; I had output format "if necessary" turned on and off -- no difference.
occasionally it just magically starts working; often I had to get up, go to the HTPC, and start the playback from there -- it usually works (unless I forget to shut off Roon Bridge running there).
Please point me in the right direction with troubleshooting.
Thanks!
