HDR to SDR still confused how to get BT2020?
« on: April 13, 2025, 01:30:57 am »

I have the JVC NZ800 and use HDR to SDR via JRVR.

I can only output BT709 as when I try BT2020 everything is too red.
I read on many threads that this is what many people do, but I cant find out how to without the red push.

How do I get the HDR to play in BT2020 and remain with correct colour, and the SDR films to remain in BT709?

Can it automatically switch between the two?

What do I set in JRVR and what do I set in my JVC proj NZ800.

Hope I can finally make this work because it is meant to be better isn’t it?

BTW I only use 8bit with blue noise dithering.

I do not want to use the proj tone mapping.

You seem to have profiles setup, make sure the configuration in the profiles is also set accordingly.

Thank you so much Hendrik, I finally have it sorted and that was the problem.
I didnt know that and someone else on AVSforums just pointed that out to me and now I have it working.

Do you personally think its better to run 2020 when we are doing HDR to SDR within JRVR?

Also if thats the case it looks like Im suposed to setup two more profils, one for HDR 2020 and another for SDR 709, is this the best way for me to go?

I hope its not too hard to make two more profiles for this as I alsread use two, one for sharpening and another for stretch, I can use two more ok can I?
