Non toggling Hot Keys

Currently on MC 33 .. just upgraded to a new PC with Windows 11

Windows 11 does weird stuff with placement and sizing of windows when the TV is turned of/on. So I now need to force MC to go to TheaterView via a command from my IR remote.

According to https://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/Keyboard_Hot-keys the Ctrl+4 key should force to TheaterView. However its actual function is to toggle between StandardView and TheaterView. => Is there another hot key that forces to TheaterView?

Could you expand more on what you need? What do you mean "force theater view"?

The "Green Button" on a standard IR MCE remote should toggle between Standard / Theater view (just like CTRL+4). But sounds like you're not interested in that?

As for issues with window placement/sizes when turning the TV on/off, that would be HDMI EDID. Some have said there is an option in Win11 Display Settings to preserve EDID (lock window placement/sizes). But I think it only shows up on machines with certain Intel Graphics.

Otherwise your best option is to trick windows EDID into thinking the TV is always ON by inserting a hardware EDID emulator (black box) between the GPU and the TV. I've had great luck with "atlona etu-sync" which is $40 on eBay.

If you can setup your remote to run a command when the key is pressed, you can switch (not toggle) to Theater mode with:
mc33 /mcc 22000,3

You can also use 22001 to start/change Theater view to a particular section.
