Hit "PLAY" always get video sometimes no audio?
« on: April 25, 2025, 03:05:15 am »

Ive had this ongoing issue for a very long time ever since I went to 100% bitstreaming.....

I always used PCM and JRiver DSP until I went Atmos.
I changed to bitstream years ago to play my Atmos and ever since I sometimes start a film and always have video but sometimes I have no audio. This has been ongoing over all the past versions, I update each new release.

Ive wanted to mention this for a very long time but this is the first time.

I just cant nail what causes this and would love to nail it. When it happens I just stop the film and re start, sometimes the audio is there sometimes I have to stop start a few times until I get audio.

When it happens I believe its when I go from a PCM film to DTS Dolby Digital etc etc... I notice the audio always defaults to either PCM zero 2.0 or PCM 7.1 everytime I stop a film. As soon as the film starts it jumps say from PCM zero 2.0 to DTS etc etc...., When you stop the film it always jumps back top PCM 2 or 7.1, is that normal.?
I have DPS Studio set to "source number of channels" (Ive test other settings but still have the problem) but have tested with the tick on the left box to on and off, it doesnt change anything with the issue.

I use Wasapi default. It isnt the end of the world as Ive been running this way for a very long time but its now bugging me.
Everything else is just so amazing with JRiver and JRVR I absolutly LOVE it, this is really something small and I have a work round but would like to sort it if possible.
Ive tried and tested so many things, can anyone give me some ideas please?

My Lyngdorf is MP 60 2.1 and all my HDMI cables are short runs and also 2.1.

Thoughts please people?
