media network volume control over Android
« on: May 13, 2025, 12:56:48 pm »

I have tried using Gizmo, Panel and JRemote2.

When I want to change volume on MC at the server from my Android, I must first unlock the phone before any volume changes are processed.

When I use some other DLNA controller the MC Server volume can be adjusted without having to unlock the phone's screen. When I use the Radio Paradise app, I can also control volume without unlocking, so I don't think it an Android issue. Only MC requires unlocking first.

(On panel it only changes the phone's volume, but not the MC Server's Playing Now volume which is being displayed)

Is there some setting I can adjust to 'fix' this?

I believe that JRemote3 is built with a newer Android target API than the other solutions you've tried, so it should have the best chances of working.
