How do you add cover art to an album in MC?
I am talking about cover art that is on my hd and not cover art
to be downloaded?

One way is to copy the folder into MC/MJ while it is shut down. Restart it and select file properties>tools>mode>offline... It will then load all cover art you had saved without going online.

Hi Jim,

I find adding art cover quite a complex task in MJ.  Auto find from Internet is great, but the hit level is poor.

May I request another choice for MJ users?  That you allow us to enter the art cover filename of our choice?

You have requested we keep the art covers in a special folder, which MJ will use when it searches for the covers.  However, I do find it more convenient to store the cover image file in the same directory as the Album.  

Hence, to make the choices work for MJ users, I recommend:

a) Allow user to choose the art cover filename TOOL or make the file properties IMAGE filename editable.

b) Allow MJ to search for art cover in the directory of the album.

I always use the Local Option First, Then I Use Get Cover Art From The Internet If Missing.

Since i have over 16,000 coverart Pics on the hard drive it is faster that way to see if i already have it.

Bring up the image tab of the properties window and select "Add..." from the "Tools" menu.

It works.  Thanks.  But this is not obvious.  The menu is quite misleading.  I think MC should make this much clearer.

It would nice if we could edit the Image File name for cover art in the File Properties window.  You can edit all of the other items in the Extended section, but the Image File location cannot be updated or changed.

well thats not true but it can't be changed from the properties window.

it should be were you could click on it and you can edit the location, dbl click on it and a common path dialog box pop up where you can direct it to a file.

That is exactly what I would like to see!  Actually, that is basically how it worked in V8.  I am assuming it was overlooked in V9.  Hopefully, Jim and the gang will change this for us.

OK, I'm guessing that most everyone else is afraid to point this out, so I'll have a stab at it:

There does not appear to be a way to add images to music files in MJ9. There--I've said it. Yes, I know that others are maintaining that it can easily be done, and I read the suggested links.  So, go ahead, blast away. But, when you're done. How about some specifics. I've spent quite a while over the past few days trying to figure it out. Looking forward to that "ohhhhhhhhh, so THAT's how you do it" kind of feeling.

Do you mean inside the file or just associated with the file.

It's possible it could be broken.

I'd like to put the little images right inside the little music files, please.

There seems to be a place on the properties menu designed for this, but it's greyed out for every file.

Select a file, then right click, and select properties.

Then try pushing all the buttons.  The ones at the top of properties will shift the view.

I just tested.  I couldn't scan directly into the program, but I could scan and then copy and paste into the program.

OK, I guess I was expecting something really simple, like in v.8, where you open the properties box for the music file and there is a section that shows the associated image, and gives the option right there to delete that image, replace it with another image of choice on the hard drive, or just leave as is.  I'll keep working on it and pushing buttons. Thanks.
