CD-text support
« on: January 02, 2003, 04:24:09 pm »

? ?
I used cd-text with MJ 8.0
win98se and a TDK CDRW 161040X  and a
sony CRX140E burners . Both worked without problem
I just bought a new computer XP-pro and a PLEXTOR
plexwriter PX-W4824A which is supported by MJ's generic drivers, but does not support CD-text.
I downloaded and installed the Adaptec aspi v4.71 and installed it by using the "run" and adding XP32 behind installbat. But I still cannot use the CD-text feature.
In the CD-writer settings the"generic driver" and "2second gap" are "locked" and impossible to change to aspi drivers.
What need I do, to fix this?
thanks ?

well you can run the utility in the C:\Adaptec to make sure ASPI is installed correctly.

I never use the .bat file i just run the install file and it always worked fine.

In version 8, cd-text is not supported with the generic driver. You can test it with "use generic" unchecked but it may still not work due to non-support by the Goldenhawk library.
In version 9, cd-text should work fine on your burner. Wait until the "Unicode" issues are ironed out in the beta, and then try version 9.
