Replay Gain and CD Burning
« on: January 03, 2003, 08:52:43 am »

When burning a CD of mixed songs from media jukebox, is replay gain utilized so that the volume level of the CD is constant?

Are you burning an audio or a data CD? For audio CDs (will play in any CD player) you can choose 'normalise before encoding' in Tools/Options/CD Writer Settings to get the same effect. For data CDs (containing mp3s etc) I dont think so, unless the player you play these CDs in can read the replay gain info in the files.

[EDIT: sorry, Im on v9 and not v8. I was confused. I think the info is still correct, however.]

In MC9, Tools/Options/CD Writer Settings, there is an option to Apply Current Playback Settings To The CD.  I haven't tried it, but this sounds like what you want.  Make sure you've analyzed the files you want to burn with MJ/MJs Replay Gain and make sure you've activated the Replay Gain DSP for playback.
