I've been playing around with MJ9 Beta and have a few suggestions;

1)  Any chance that cover art downloaded through a WMP9 rip can be used automatically.   WMP9 does a good job of using CDDB to get a clean jpg of the CD cover and automatically placing it in the albums directory (although it is hidden).  Having the ability to show this hidden jpg automatically when in hairstyle mode would be super cool.   Strangly the MJ database finds this artwork and presents it in slide show format when playing.

2)  Can the font shown in hairstyle be user selected to allow for variations in TV size a quality?  This would help make the interface more user friendly.  Think TIVO from UI standpoint.

3)  Along this line, how about allowing a .wav file to be played when scrolling through items and a separate wav to be played when selecting (enter).  Again think TIVO simplicity.

4)  Currently, when in hairstyle mode the video (when selected) shows in a small window rather than switching to full screen.  I am sure that the player app could switch to full screen, however this would require additional user input.

5)  Provide an option for starting in hairstyle mode.

Some of this, you can do.

Set MJ to "Start in Full Screen (if has display)" in MJ tools/options/behavior.

We will definitely add a "Start in Hairstyle" mode.  Should be soon.

You can change font size by editing the xml file.  We don't have good documentation on this yet, but try this thread:

I agree with you on TiVo-like sounds.  Should be easy to do.

Matt may have more to say on this.  He's doing the work.  I watch to make sure he doesn't get out of his chair except for his bathroom break at 3:00.

Woah.

I just got my December Maxim and there was a CD in it.  It was a Windows XP Media Center Edition demo CD.  I put it in and looked around.  Omigod, that is amazing.  I swear I want to go get one.

I mean, it's just Windows XP, which I already use, bundled with a freakishly cool tv/video/image/music jukebox/pvr.  Just a program that you can launch and close.  Double-click and have fun, right?

Well, that's what MJ is, too!  Double-click and MJ.  Now I understand what you're thinking about for Hairstyle.  And all I can say is... I'm so very very glad that I bought a license for v9.  Yeah baby!

I watched the videos again, and thought heck yeah, I already own this!  I just gotta wait while they build it!  

The CD, by the way, is definately worth a look if you can get it.
