On conversion...
« on: October 25, 2002, 08:10:26 am »

When trying to convert my 128 Kbs MP3 files to 98 Kbs, MJ always tries to replace the existing file even if I tell it to move the file to another location.  Further, I get a Windows box asking me to verify the overwrite.  I like the verification since I like to compare the quality between the two files before I replace the higher bitrate versions.

That's funny ... when I run the convert and ask it to replace files .. it replaces the ORIGINAL.mp3 with ORIGINAL(1).mp3 and removes ORIGINAL.mp3 (to the recycle bin) ...

Honestly, I wish it WOULD replace the original and stop tacking on (1) to the end of the files !

I used v8 to do most of my conversions and it did that too.  v9 doesn't.
